We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree for Physician Assistants
  • Master's Degree for Nurse Practitioners
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience
  • National Certification
  • Active state medical licensure
  • Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
  • Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.
  • Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
  • Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
  • Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Per Diem employees must be available to work 3 days in every 28 days block including 1 weekend shift.

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections.
  • Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.
  • Examining and treating patients
  • Taking patients’ medical histories
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
  • Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
  • Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
  • Educating and counseling patients
  • Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
  • Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
  • All other duties as assigned
