About The Position

Atrium Health, a leading community-focused academic healthcare system, is seeking an Urgent Care APP (NP/PA) for their team at Hugh Chatham Health Family Medicine and Express Care - Dobson located in Dobson, NC. This full-time position involves working 3-12 hour shifts per week, with clinic hours from 7 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week. The clinic is staffed with 1 physician, 10 APPs, clinical support staff, lab/x-ray personnel, and an on-site supervisor. This role offers no call rotation and every third weekend off. The position emphasizes meaningful patient impact within a close-knit, team-oriented environment, fostering a strong connection to the community. The fast-paced and varied nature of the work allows for broad hands-on experience with different cases, while maintaining a balanced workflow. Team members are encouraged to wear multiple hats, promoting versatility and collaboration, with decisions feeling immediate and impactful.

Requirements

Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Master's Program

Responsibilities

Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
