About The Position

Atrium Health Navicent Medical Group is recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Care team. We are looking for candidates that would thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Our 3 urgent care locations diagnose and treat patients of all ages. The Provider functions independently, including coordination and facilitation of administrative and clinical activities in collaboration with a supervising physician to provide essential functions. The role involves collecting medical history, performing physical examinations, formulating assessments, developing treatment plans, performing medical and/or surgical procedures, ordering and interpreting tests, writing prescriptions, and administering medications. The provider must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and skills appropriate for diverse patient populations. Completing medical record documentation, understanding and complying with coding policies, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality, and acting as a patient advocate are also key responsibilities. The role requires active participation in practice activities, performance improvement processes, and business development. The provider is expected to pursue personal and professional development, be a lifelong learner, take initiative, be flexible, follow through on commitments, and take ownership of responsibilities.

Requirements

• Suturing experience required
• Ability to see patients of all ages
• Eligible for prescriptive authority through the Georgia Board of Nursing and/or Georgia Composite Medical Board.
• If applicable in setting, must have or be eligible to obtain a DEA license.
• Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required
• Georgia license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse through the Georgia Board of Nursing required.
• Certification in the area of practice and appropriate for the population served from a nationally recognized certifying body required.

Responsibilities

• Abides by AHN Mission and Culture Commitments.
• Provides high quality patient care, including but not limited to: Collects appropriate medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates a comprehensive assessment, and develops a treatment plan.
• Performs medical and/or surgical procedures as qualified to perform, approved by the AHN Medical Staff Office and in accordance with medical staff bylaws.
• Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests.
• Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
• Displays knowledge of the principles of growth and development while demonstrating the skills and competencies appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
• Completes all medical record documentation in a timely and complete manner.
• Demonstrates proficiency in documentation and billing processes.
• Understands and complies with federal and state coding policies.
• Ensures patient safety.
• Acts as a patient advocate.
• Ensures patient confidentiality. Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job. Will share information only on a need-to-know basis for work purposes.
• Actively participates in AHNMG/Service Line/Department/Practice activities and meetings as requested.
• Meet both AHNMG and division-specific Minimum Work Standards, including Access, Citizenship, Production and Quality.
• Actively participates in AHN performance improvement processes and actively engages in successful performance improvement gap closure by striving to meet operational and quality metrics.
• Actively participates in marketing and business development of AHNMG and practice.
• Pursues personal and professional development. Is a life-long learner.
