The Development Services Department is seeking an Urban Engineer I. The Urban Engineer I examines a variety of engineering and construction plans and permits to determine whether plans, specifications, and materials conform to legally established codes and requirements to ensure minimum City engineering adequacy standards and principles are met, such as: on-site and roadway geometry, safe and adequate access, site drainage, stormwater, water/wastewater, paving, grading, construction operations, surface reconstruction, provision for easements and other and right-of-way and site improvements, and coordination of utility reviews. This is a Management Category IV position which includes five (5) additional Management Vacation Days and a Vehicle Allowance of $120/month. This job classification is included within the bargaining unit represented by Federation of Public Employees and therefore is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Fort Lauderdale and Federation of Public Employees.
