Your Impact: Our Certified Uptower Repair Wind Technicians will be performing up-tower repairs and diagnostics on medium & major components including Generator Bearings, Generator Slip Rings, Rotor & Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS replacement, HSS bearings, IMS replacement, IMS bearings, Yaw Drive Repair/Exchange, Generator Exchanges & Trunnion Pin Repairs. Carry out daily tasks such as cleaning, organizing, minor assembly, minor service & troubleshooting. They are required to climb vertically at least 300ft. Must maintain certifications in all areas required by the position. The Position is 100% travel currently on 6 weeks on 1 week off rotation.

Requirements

Direct Turbine Specific experience is required- GE, SGRE, and Suzlon experience is preferred.
SGRE Green Profile
MCE experience required with additional knowledge in lifting/hoisting operations.
Generator and gearbox bearing exchange experience required.
Ability to measure and interpret digital and analog calipers.
Small to medium corrective work experience required.
Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
Lift and carry equipment as needed (more than 50 pounds).

Nice To Haves

GE, SGRE, and Suzlon experience is preferred.
Additional knowledge in lifting/hoisting operations.

Responsibilities

Perform up-tower repairs and diagnostics on medium & major components including Generator Bearings, Generator Slip Rings, Rotor & Stator Cables, Gearbox HSS replacement, HSS bearings, IMS replacement, IMS bearings, Yaw Drive Repair/Exchange, Generator Exchanges & Trunnion Pin Repairs.
Carry out daily tasks such as cleaning, organizing, minor assembly, minor service & troubleshooting.
Conduct safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
Read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
May be required to perform LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) of equipment as an Authorized Person.
May be required to support lifting operations following skills verification of Large Components.
