A UPS Technician III is responsible for startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for systems related to Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, including Battery Systems. This role requires the ability to perform UPS replacements and new installations, as well as preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, and routine and emergency repairs of all types of systems without supervision and with minimal disruption to the customer. The technician will install, trouble diagnose, repair, start-up, and commission all types of UPS systems. Additionally, the role involves leading jobs with multiple crew members, communicating effectively with various stakeholders, and operating equipment such as UPS systems, Battery systems, PDU’s, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for interacting with co-workers, sales teams, engineering partners, management teams, and clients. The technician must be able to accurately assess human power requirements, estimate consumables and connectivity parts, and recognize when crew productivity and safety are jeopardized. Leadership, good judgment, and the ability to foster team morale and cooperation are crucial. The role also includes teaching learned skills to others and performing other duties as assigned.
