About The Position

Great Hearts Academies is seeking passionate, life-long learners to shape students' hearts and minds in its growing network of classical schools. Great Hearts provides over 30,000 K-12 students with a high-quality, classical liberal arts education, aiming to help students become good, intellectually and morally. The Teaching Assistant/Apprentice Teacher role supports the lead teacher in curriculum implementation and offers an opportunity to learn the craft of teaching in a classical, liberal arts environment through mentorship. Many Apprentice Teachers advance to lead teacher positions.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree is required.
  • US work authorization is required.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Some locations (e.g. Title I schools) may require assistant teachers to have an AA, 60 hours of college credit, or be able to pass a ParaPro proficiency exam before beginning work.
