About The Position

Moravian Academy is seeking a part-time Upper School Mathematics Teacher for the Merle-Smith Campus. This 50% FTE role is designed for individuals who desire meaningful work with a lighter schedule, focusing on building rich student relationships. The position involves teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry, meeting students four times a week, and holding two office hours sessions per week. The role emphasizes engaging with curious and capable students, understanding their learning styles, and encouraging intellectual risk-taking.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching secondary mathematics, including Algebra 1 and Geometry.
• A student-centered approach and genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborative spirit and willingness to be part of a vibrant academic community.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Independent school experience.
• Comfort with educational technology.

Responsibilities
