About The Position

The Quad Preparatory School is seeking an Upper School Floating Associate Teacher - STEM for the anticipated opening for the 2026-27 School Year. This is an exempt position with an annual salary range of $45,000-$54,000. Requirements

Love for working with children
Strong background and interest in science, technology, and/or mathematics
Desire and ability to work with students with special needs
Lesson planning and the ability to provide engaging and differentiated instruction
Ability to connect with elementary school-aged children
Effective oral and written communication
A solid understanding of elementary-aged children’s academic, social, and emotional development
Attention to detail
Maintaining confidentiality and privacy
Ethical conduct
Time management and the ability to multitask
Teamwork and collaboration
Patience and flexibility
Bachelor’s degree in education (any subject area), special education, a related field, or a STEM-related field.
Experience teaching children in grades 6-12.

Nice To Haves

At least three years experience as a full-time teacher or teacher’s assistant.
Master’s degree in education (any subject area), special education, or a related field.
Special education training, including training in the areas of gifted education and twice-exceptional youth.
Secondary (any subject) and/or special education teaching credential.
Experience teaching twice-exceptional youth.

Responsibilities

Take on the responsibilities of a head teacher or psychosocial teacher, following lesson plans and the directions of other classroom teachers.
Report to the teacher on his or her return as to what was accomplished during the teacher’s absence.
Develop and be ready to implement “emergency” lesson plans in the event a teacher’s absence is unexpected and plans are not readily available.
Push into the homeroom classes for interdisciplinary lessons and classroom support on days when substitute coverage is not needed.
Perform administrative and clerical tasks for Upper School faculty and administration on days when substitute coverage is not needed.
Follow the professional code and policies of the school and conduct oneself in a way that promotes the mission of the school.
Utilize Google Suite, in particular Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets.
Attend all faculty and staff meetings and required special events (e.g., open houses, Curriculum Night, Carnivale).
Perform other duties as assigned.
