About The Position

Crescent Academy is currently hiring for a Full Time Upper Elementary Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 School Year. Crescent Academy serves over 500 students at grade level PreK-11. We believe in the whole child approach which means that academy staff assists students and their families in bettering their outcomes by creating a college bound culture that expects and teaches strong character, academic achievement, and civic engagement. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 4th-6th Grade Elementary Teacher to join our team. The Elementary Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to student development and a desire to foster a love for learning in young children.

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or a related field.
Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan with an endorsement in the grade level.
Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
