About The Position

This position is for an Upper Elementary Full Time Teacher responsible for effectively teaching students using approved curriculum and supplementary materials to enhance student learning in science. The teacher should demonstrate a commitment to Jesus Christ, Christian education, and the ministry of meeting the educational needs of children and young adults. Key characteristics include excellent communication skills, organization, and a team-player attitude. The role involves implementing school policies, modeling Christian behavior, utilizing diverse teaching methods, assessing student progress, maintaining professional growth, promoting school principles, participating in spiritual activities, supporting the parent organization, completing reporting duties, preparing lesson plans, holding help classes, maintaining classroom discipline, scheduling conferences, supervising extra-curricular activities, completing ACSI certification requirements, maintaining a personal walk with the Lord, observing the Matthew 18 principle in conflict resolution, fulfilling administrative duties, demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and learning, maintaining a clean and attractive classroom, planning and implementing biblically integrated lessons, and punctual attendance at meetings and assigned responsibilities. Availability to assist others is also expected.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years classroom teaching experience in Christian education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Effectively teach students using approved curriculum and supplementary materials to enhance student learning in science.
  • Implement systems, policies and procedures as outlined by the Administration.
  • Model cooperative, respectful, responsible and spiritually minded behavior.
  • Utilize a broad variety of teaching methods to match student learning styles.
  • Regularly assess student progress to provide differentiated instruction.
  • Maintain a program of individual professional growth.
  • Promote FBA and the principles of Kingdom Education.
  • Participate in spiritual activities at FBA such as prayer, devotions, Bible study and chapel.
  • Support the school's parent organization initiatives as it impacts the classroom and students.
  • Complete all reporting duties and other paperwork assigned.
  • Prepare Lesson Plans for all instructional activities.
  • Hold help classes as needed or requested by students or parents.
  • Maintain proper classroom discipline.
  • Schedule conferences with parents or students as needed.
  • Supervise extra-curricular activities, organizations and outings as assigned.
  • Complete all requirements for ACSI certification.
  • Maintain a close personal walk with the Lord evidenced by lifestyle.
  • Observe the Matthew 18 principle in conflict resolution.
  • Fulfill all duties as assigned by the school administration.
  • Demonstrate a love for teaching and learning with enthusiasm.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive classroom that is conducive.
