About The Position

This position is for the Weekend shift UPH team, working Friday through Sunday, 12-hour shifts. The role involves fabricating and installing upholstery, covering panels, and making simple patterns for aircraft interiors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications. The individual will join our Weekend shift Upholstery team and will initially train on the 1st shift for a minimum of six months or until skills are adequate before transitioning to the weekend schedule. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations.
Must be computer literate.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.

Nice To Haves

Experience with sewing and leather work is beneficial.
Knowledge of and proper usage methods for most hand tools, table saw, bandsaw, router, and cordless power tools preferred.
Mechanical background, mechanic, woodworking, cabinet building, and/or finish carpentry experience is preferred but not required.
Must possess a strong willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
Experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers and/or various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform technical upholstery functions within design, customer, FAA, and Gulfstream specifications.
Complete specific installation and trim tasks in compliance with work order instructions and specifications.
Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, and windows.
Cut and surge carpets.
Cover bulkheads.
Fabricate various metal parts.
Cover and install panels.
Create carpet patterns per design drawings and complete installation.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
