About The Position

This position is responsible for applying upholstery materials to furniture frames using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and special upholstery tools. The role involves building pieces so the cover is smooth and fits the frame properly, and requires the ability to read and follow production tickets. The upholsterer must also be able to line, spot match, 4-way line, and tuft, while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous upholstery experience a plus.
• Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed.
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Applying upholstery materials to furniture frames using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and special upholstery tools.
• Using various tools to apply padding and upholstery fabric to a wood frame, completing the inside of an upholstered piece of furniture.
• Building pieces so cover is smooth and fits the frame properly.
• Reading and following production tickets.
• Lining, spot matching, 4-way lining, and tufting.
• Following all safety policies and procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
