Duties may include the following: Acts as the lead engineer on upgrade projects with specific emphasis on Valmet sensors and profilers. Responsible for upgrade project specification, installation, startup and performance reporting. Works closely with the upgrade project manager to ensure customer satisfaction and project financial success. Works with others in the NA and Finland as needed to successfully implement the upgrade projects. Be occasionally available to assist sales, training and/or the help desk Any other duties as assigned. Knowledge and skills: Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. You must be able to manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, while being self-directed and motivated. This position also requires the ability to interact and effectively communicate with customers as required. Experience & education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Paper Science or a related field; plus, five to ten years’ experience, preferably in the paper industry or an industrial setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a strong working knowledge of Valmet DNA equipment with a solid understanding of related processes & equipment. Experience with Valmet Profilers and/or online measurement sensors is a plus. Note: This position requires up to 60% travel within Canada, Mexico and the United States and occasional overseas travel as well as driving moderate or long distances on occasion. You must maintain a valid driver’s license. We offer.
