About The Position

Valmet is seeking an Upgrade Engineer to join their industry-leading team of automation professionals. This role involves working on the front lines of development, shaping the field of automation. Requirements

Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-directed and motivated.
Ability to interact and effectively communicate with customers as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Paper Science or a related field.
Five to ten years’ experience, preferably in the paper industry or an industrial setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong working knowledge of Valmet DNA equipment with a solid understanding of related processes & equipment.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Valmet Profilers and/or online measurement sensors is a plus.

Responsibilities

Acts as the lead engineer on upgrade projects with specific emphasis on Valmet sensors and profilers.
Responsible for upgrade project specification, installation, startup and performance reporting.
Works closely with the upgrade project manager to ensure customer satisfaction and project financial success.
Works with others in the NA and Finland as needed to successfully implement the upgrade projects.
Be occasionally available to assist sales, training and/or the help desk.
Any other duties as assigned.
