About The Position

This role serves as the Manager for UPF Maintenance Execution, reporting directly to the UPF Asset Management Senior Manager. You will be responsible for the daily delivery of nuclear facility and production equipment maintenance, leading a complex, multi-disciplined line management team of exempt professionals, non-exempt professionals, and bargaining-unit craft. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in strategic and tactical planning, customer service, disciplined operations, and continuous improvement. Experience with plant management systems is required, including safety, security, conduct of operations, nuclear criticality safety, nuclear safety analysis, and associated technical safety requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
High school diploma and 15 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
Meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years of nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative).
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
This position may be categorized as a “designated position” identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
Candidates accepting a job offer will be required to pass a pre-placement physical, drug screening and background investigation.
As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter.

Nice To Haves

Relevant experience associated with the management and operations of nuclear facilities, Nuclear Criticality Safety, Safety Basis management, and commensurate nuclear operations.
Work experience with DOE and/or NNSA Orders and practices is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute daily maintenance and business operations on nuclear processing equipment, systems, and components within the UPF, ensuring strict compliance with nuclear criticality safety bases and procedural compliance practices.
Lead and provide personal interaction to promote a positive work environment. Assist in resolving personnel problems, employee complaints, and union issues/grievances where applicable.
Partner with the UPF project team and project turnover manager on equipment and system technical requirements to ensure seamless operational turnover to the maintenance organization.
Ensure detailed, documented reviews of processes, systems, and equipment designs via vendor submissions to maximize maintenance efficiency and long-term equipment maintainability.
Provide direct oversight of Execution Supervisors in the execution of maintenance work to support asset management strategies and field execution priorities, as required by DOE O 422.1 for Nuclear Facilities.
Monitor key performance indicators, safety incidents/statistics, and cost information to drive implementation of Integrated Safety Management (ISMS) principles, Conduct of Operations, and other plant programs.
Serve as the primary point of contact to collaborate with maintenance coordinators, planning leads, and stakeholders across multiple organizations to support integrated scheduling and plan-of-the-day meetings. Ensure direct reports perform field walkdowns to accurately identify scopes and analyze hazards.
Develop and maintain annual labor and non-labor operating budgets, and formulate strategic plans and corresponding risk analyses to drive understanding of risk and mission delivery.
Maintain a thorough understanding of UPF technical specifications for processes, systems, and equipment along with operational and maintenance requirements defined in Project directives.
