About The Position

The City of Aurora is accepting applications for unpaid intern positions for the Fall in various Departments throughout the City. Departments may include but are not limited to: Community Services Department: Community Engagement Innovation & Strategy Public Art Youth Services Engineering Information Technology GIS Mayor’s Office Sustainability, Development, & Business Opportunity Emergency Management Agency. This internship offers college students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in local government, work alongside city officials and professionals, help shape local policies, programs, and community events, and gain insight into public service and administration. Interns will also build meaningful connections with leaders and mentors.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree program or have graduated within the previous six months.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, but is not required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with members of our diverse community is considered an asset, particularly for internships that involve public engagement.
