About The Position

As an electrical engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to prototyping electronics systems and engineering new unmanned technologies and systems. We’re looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to develop advanced systems for the military. At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform the Navy. That’s why we need you, an electrical engineer, with experience with trajectory control and planning, to help us design and develop prototypes and implement hardware and software on Navy unmanned vehicles. On our team, you’ll perform hands-on engineering and testing of the vehicles, including performing at-sea testing. You’ll impact the Navy by performing the critical engineering functions to support unmanned vehicle missions. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with performing engineering services for autonomous vehicles, including power distribution, signal processing, control systems, payload integration, and electronics design
  • 2+ years of experience with developing engineering technical artifacts for complex systems
  • Experience with reading and following electrical drawing and schematics, loading software, and performing functional testing
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes, artifacts, documentation, and the systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to prototype and implement solutions on physical systems, write technical documentation and create design artifacts, and interpret schematics, drawings, and diagrams
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science, or robotics field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with DoD clients to model, maintain, or integrate complex electromechanical systems
  • Experience with navigation or control systems for autonomous or unmanned undersea vehicles, designing and testing autonomous or unmanned undersea vehicles, and inertial navigation systems and GPS
  • Experience with naval operations and protocols
  • Experience with the Robotics Operating Systems (ROS) Framework and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) software, including SysML, Rhapsody, or MagicDraw
  • Experience using CAD software and developing machine vision for unmanned vehicles including object detection and avoidance, localization, mapping, and 2D/3D image processing
  • Knowledge of programming in a modern language, including Java, C++, or C#
  • Ability to professionally interact with clients to understand their needs, recommend courses of action, and present or demonstrate results
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Master's degree in an engineering, computer science, or robotics field
  • IAT II level certification
