About The Position

Everyone knows security needs to be “baked in” to a system architecture—you actually know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface for unmanned vehicles. What if you could use your cyber architecture skills to lead the design and development of secure systems for the US Navy? We’re looking for a cyber engineer who can create autonomous solutions for Navy that will withstand even the most advanced cyber threats. As a lead Cybersecurity Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll lead cyber efforts to enhance security of unmanned and autonomous platforms. You’ll coordinate work with in-house teams, legacy OEMs, and start-ups to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s Cyber needs and goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solutions, so you’ll advise on new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You’ll guide the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs. You’ll oversee efforts to help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by integrating secure practices and identifying new solutions. Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience leading cybersecurity teams and driving efforts to enhance cybersecurity capabilities
  • 8+ years of experience with infrastructure architecture and security management for DoD programs, providing software engineering design, development, frameworks, and analysis of alternatives, and presenting technical options to leadership and clients
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Navy programs
  • Knowledge of Navy acquisition process and Cybersecurity requirements
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Cybersecurity
  • CISSP or CISM Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the implementation of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) special publications, federal regulations, and DoD policies
  • Knowledge of network segmentation architecture planning and best practices and network routing, switching, management, security protocols, and best practices
  • Knowledge of software-defined networking concepts and security requirements
  • Knowledge of COMSEC protocols and methods
  • Ability to interact with technical managers and architecture teams to articulate requirements and processes, while collaborating on design and implementation options
