UNM Press Sales & Marketing Student Assistant
About The Position
The University of New Mexico Press, the largest book publisher in the state of New Mexico, is looking for a student to help with various marketing projects for 15-20 hours per week. The student will work with UNM Press to assist with mailings, research, and social media initiatives. The student will support multiple outreach initiatives from marketing, publicity, and sales, as well as any other miscellaneous tasks that might arise. UNM Press is located on UNM’s main campus. Under direct supervision, the student will work with UNM Press sales and marketing in a team environment.
Requirements
- Must be able to maintain privacy of information.
- Must have professional manner, good organizational and interpersonal skills and be very dependable.
- Must have good attention to detail and be comfortable and accurate with data entry.
- Must be able to think independently and make decisions.
Nice To Haves
- Enjoys teamwork.
- Experience in an office setting preferred.
- Experience with Excel and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Student should be comfortable working unsupervised in the absence of staff.
Responsibilities
- Research lists to target marketing, publicity, and sales initiatives
- Coordinate conference and book fair mailings in conjunction with senior marketing associate
- Help with seasonal catalog creation
- Assist in social media content creation and implementation
- Assist with mailings, research, and social media initiatives
- Support multiple outreach initiatives from marketing, publicity, and sales
- Perform any other miscellaneous tasks that might arise
