About The Position

Centerstone is seeking a therapist with experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This is an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team. No weekend or on call work required. The role involves developing therapeutic rapport with clients, conducting diagnostic assessments (including substance use assessments), and providing concurrent documentation within 24 hours. The therapist will offer assessment services and individual (and possibly family) therapy, focusing on empirically based modalities for mental health or substance abuse diagnoses. Treatment planning, progress notes, and responding to supervisory requests for urgent care or caseload coverage are also key responsibilities. The position requires effective communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational and planning abilities, and timely, professional responses to consumer needs, demonstrating good clinical judgment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a specialization in MH Counseling
  • License-eligible in respective discipline preferred
  • If Master's degree is in a related field, completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in clinical treatment and treatment planning, appraisal and assessment of mental disorders, psychopathology, and use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes
  • Clinical experience, which may include clinical practicums or internships completed as part of a master’s degree program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to organize and plan
  • Ability to communicate effectively via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods

Responsibilities

  • Develop therapeutic rapport with clients
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, including risk and substance use assessments

  • Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise treatment goals/objectives and plans
  • Utilize empirically based modalities for mental health or substance abuse diagnoses
  • Complete progress notes within agency guidelines
  • Respond to supervisory requests for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads
  • Keep administrative supervisor informed of potential issues impacting the program or organization
