About The Position

Helix Electric, Inc. is an open-shop electrical contracting company serving design/build, industrial, commercial, mixed-use and multifamily, government, institutional, communications, and utilities projects. The Unlicensed Electrician joins a production-driven team performing electrical installations and troubleshooting. The position involves assembling, installing, maintaining, and testing electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings, in accordance with codes, drawings, and job specifications.

Requirements

State Journeyman Electrician Certification is required in states where mandated and highly desirable in states where it is not required.
Excellent working knowledge of building codes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work 8–10 hours per day and 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as required.
Ability to perform the job’s physical functions, including routinely lifting objects over 50 pounds and pushing and pulling objects.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and a respirator when required.

Responsibilities

Prepare work areas for equipment installation.
Install electrical components and connect wiring and equipment according to code and job specifications.
Assemble, maintain, and test electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
Operate equipment only when trained and certified, including powder-activated tools and lifts where applicable.
Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
Read blueprints and electrical drawings and install equipment as specified.
Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances against drawings or plans.
Secure and lock up equipment after use.
Deliver safe projects on schedule and within budget.
