University Intern, Disputes & Economics - Financial Services Advisory
About The Position
Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth. This position supports the Ankura Disputes & Economics Business Group - one of five practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm. The Financial Services Advisory practice assists clients in Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, FinTech and related industries. Our primary services are Business Strategy and Transformation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Risk, Compliance, and Controls, and Data & AI. Interns, working as part of a project team, perform critical, value-added work that can directly impact a client’s bottom line. A sample of diverse consulting engagements that you could be involved in include: Identifying, prioritizing, and sequencing AI implementation for a Wealth Management firm, Reducing a retirement organization’s operating costs by $80m/year, Executing a firmwide program to enhance a bank’s processes and control, Optimizing and redesigning an insurers claims function, Documenting a bank’s obligations that arose from laws, rules, and regulatory requirements, Redesigning a corporate trust’s operating model.
Requirements
- Completion of an undergraduate degree with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 and a major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other analytical course of study
- Solid academic performance in their course of study with a 3.3 GPA or better.
- A working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong working knowledge of AI tools and workflow automation
- Ability to work in a dynamic professional services environment
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team
- Research and analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity
- Willingness to travel and work overtime when needed
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (i.e. U.S. citizen or permanent resident). Internships and full-time University Associate roles are not eligible for U.S. immigration sponsorship, work visa or any other temporary work authorization (i.e. OPT, CPT).
Nice To Haves
- Advanced technical skills including SQL, R, Python, or SAS are a plus
Responsibilities
- Identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement and automation in processes and controls and related risks
- Assist in gathering client data and utilizing AI to support analysis
- Reviewing client documentation to understand current-state processes
- Performing financial, accounting, economic, and statistical analyses
- Documenting findings through crafting stories in PowerPoint
- Assisting with project plans, action lists, issues and tracking and reporting on progress in status reports
- Preparing client reports and exhibits
- Presenting findings to the consulting team and clients
Benefits
- The current payrate for this internship is: $34/hr.
