About The Position

If you are in search of an on-campus position that will enable you to improve your communication skills while making connections with our alumni population, then the Office of University Advancement in Beatty House is the place for you! Working closely with University Advancement staff, the Student Assistant will be responsible for facilitating alumni engagement and outreach via social media and assisting with event preparation and execution. Additionally, the Student Assistant will work closely with the Donor Relations team to ensure proper communications with alumni and donors, as well as assist in tracking management of solicitations, gifts, and event attendance.

  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year.
  • Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a social media campaign that engages alumni.
  • Research and compile alumni success stories for print, electronic, and social media channels.
  • Craft responses to general alumni inquiries, condolence/congratulatory letters, event registrations, etc.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the alumni database.
  • Create and coordinate the distribution of time-sensitive materials.
  • Research and analyze peer institutions' Alumni Relations marketing and communication strategies and events.
