About The Position

This role involves opening new member accounts, handling beneficiary documentation, and supporting members with consumer loan applications. The representative will evaluate and manage these applications, including sending approval/denial notifications and adverse action letters. They will also reach out to members regarding pending loans and coordinate final disbursements. A key aspect of the role is identifying opportunities to market and cross-sell Vicinity Credit Union products and services to build strong member relationships. The position also includes lobby management, executing tasks in compliance with policies and regulations, originating mortgage applications, assisting members with payroll deductions and direct deposits, processing U.S. Savings Bonds redemptions, and addressing account-related inquiries via various communication channels. The representative must comply with privacy policies, implement sales and service procedures, and be prepared to perform Teller functions when necessary. Additional duties include handling notifications of deceased members, providing coverage for other locations, participating in training, performing additional duties as directed, providing sales and service feedback, and meeting individual sales goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of related credit union work experience, or equivalent experience in related field or a Bachelor degree or Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 1-year loan granting and collection experience with a financial institution preferred
  • Excellent math skills and basic accounting knowledge
  • Exceptional mathematical abilities and foundational accounting knowledge
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with others and maintaining a positive work attitude
  • Dependable and possess a strong sense of integrity
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing modern technology, including computers and calculators, essential for fulfilling required and various tasks
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong writing and verbal communication abilities are essential
  • Excellent member service capabilities
  • Familiarity with credit union practices and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Open new member accounts
  • Handle beneficiary documentation
  • Support members in applying for all consumer loan applications
  • Evaluate and manage consumer loan applications, including sending approval and denial notifications as well as adverse action letters to members
  • Reach out to members regarding pending loans and coordinate the scheduling of final disbursements by adhering to our outreach processes
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to market and cross-sell Vicinity Credit Union products and services to build strong member relationships
  • Welcome members as they enter the branch and guide them to the appropriate area of the credit union for their transactions (Lobby Management)
  • Execute tasks in compliance with Vicinity Credit Union’s policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Originate mortgage applications
  • Assist members in filling out payroll deduction and direct deposit forms and allocations and answering any direct deposit inquiries
  • Process requests for redemption of U.S. Savings Bonds
  • Address any account related inquiries from members via phone, online chat, email, or in-person
  • Comply with all privacy policies set in place to protect sensitive member information and utilize approved communication channels
  • Implement all sales and service policies and procedures to ensure a positive contribution to all branch audits
  • Comprehend all Teller functions and responsibilities and be prepared to perform as a Teller when necessary
  • Handle notifications of deceased members
  • Provide coverage for other locations when there is a business need
  • Participate in training sessions assigned by management
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor or management
