About The Position

As a Universal Lender at Gulf Coast Bank, you will play a pivotal role in our lending operations, managing a wide range of loans from consumer to commercial. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various lending products, exceptional analytical skills, and a customer centric approach to delivering financial solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lending role, handling both consumer and commercial loans.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the origination process for consumer and commercial loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Conduct thorough credit assessments and risk analysis for loan applicants, utilizing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
  • Interviews loan applicants, collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect that the merits of the specific loan request.
  • Approves loans within a legal loan limit according to Bank policy. Usually handles complex and substantial department loans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing personalized guidance and support throughout the loan application process.
  • Collects and analyzes information that reflects the current credit worthiness of customers and the current merits of existing loans.
  • May obtain information through direct inspection of the applicant's business and/or collateral, review of interim financial reports, personal interview, or other means.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and changes in the financial industry, especially related to lending products, and communicate this knowledge effectively to clients.
  • Maintains an awareness of economic conditions and planned developments within his/her service area that could affect the overall profitability of the Bank.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all loans, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Reviews commercial loan procedures on a routine basis; recommends any necessary updates or revisions.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling additional financial products and services to clients based on their needs and financial goals.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as risk management, legal, and operations, to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Develops material for and makes loan presentations to the Loan Review Committee.
  • Develops new business by contacting prospects and customers.
  • Follows up on credit referrals from branch managers and business bankers.
  • Partners with branch staff and customers on preparing proper credit structure and credit packages.
  • Drives sales activities and fulfills customer needs by effectively leveraging on, coordinating, and organizing targeted marketing campaigns, events and new product launches.
  • Spends majority of time in the field, on sales appointments, generating leads to new opportunities and closing business.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Promotes Gulf Coast Bank in the community by participating in community affairs to increase the Bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities, as well as bank-sponsored community events.
  • Develops new business by contacting prospects and customers while cross-selling bank.
