About The Position

The Universal Banker is responsible for demonstrating exceptional customer interaction while efficiently and accurately completing customer transactions in both the Teller and Personal Banker job responsibilities. This role requires demonstrating an accurate knowledge of the bank’s products and services, ensuring superior quality service in completing all customer transactions, and matching the financial needs that achieve customer goals with product and service solutions. The Universal Banker will grow the deposits of the bank by creating an exceptional customer experience while providing and filling customer needs as they occur in the branch environment. They will build long-term customer relationships with a focused group of customers by being knowledgeable of the customer base and proactively uncovering individual customer financial goals. A positive service mentality and the capacity to successfully satisfy the customer while considering the resources and needs of the organization are essential. The employee will support the bank's strategic goals, vision, mission, core values, service standards, and service philosophy in actions, words, and deeds.

Requirements

  • High school graduate with equivalent work and skill experience.
  • One year of banking, customer service and/or sales experience is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the bank's products and services.
  • Willingness to serve.
  • Ability to function efficiently in a network environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Ability to function efficiently on a general business level of math.
  • Possess general accounting knowledge (debits, credits, and understanding of account reconciliations).
  • Project a professional image by adhering to guidelines in the employee handbook.
  • General understanding of the Federal Reserve Banking System.
  • Ability to collect, research, and analyze information skillfully.
  • Self-starter, creative thinker, flexible, eager, nurturing, open to change, and exhibit good judgment.
  • Leader by example, attentive to detail, work well with others, and be responsive to supervisory guidance.
  • Satisfactory results from a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer interaction while efficiently and accurately completing customer transactions in both Teller and Personal Banker roles.

  • Grow bank deposits by creating exceptional customer experiences and addressing customer needs.

  • Maintain a positive service mentality.
  • Effectively manage cash drawers, night deposits, and mail deposits.
  • Research and resolve customer transaction issues.
  • Conduct transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Open accounts for new and current customers, recommending appropriate products and services.
  • Conduct personal and business checking/savings sales presentations and make professional referrals.
  • Cross-sell additional bank services and meet referral/cross-sell goals.
  • Order checks for customers and transfer money between accounts.
  • Maintain safe deposit box records and admit customers according to procedures.
  • Evaluate and make decisions concerning the initiation of Fresh Foundation accounts.
  • Maintain files for new and closed accounts.
  • Develop personal and professional relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Assist with maintaining a portfolio of customers, contacting top customers regularly.
  • Proactively seek new business and conduct relationship-building calls.
  • Utilize MCIF-Connections for relationship building and tracking referrals.
  • Keep CIF files current.
  • Serve as the office resource person for bank products and services.
  • Lead product knowledge training sessions.
  • Take ownership for the well-being and positive community image of the bank.
  • Actively participate in community activities and civic functions.
  • Ensure marketing materials are current and displayed professionally.
  • Attend all training sessions and follow compliance, security, and internal guidelines.
  • Verify identifications, stop payments, holds, signatures, and other signs of genuineness.
  • Complete Currency Transaction Reports accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures.
  • Focus on compliance and adherence to bank policies and procedures.
