About The Position

The Universal Banker position is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of client transactions while maintaining accurate records and proper handling of all monies assigned. This role delivers superior quality service by identifying and understanding client financial needs. The Universal Banker is cross-trained to support sales and service activities, with a particular focus on assisting with outbound calling and supporting Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) activities. This is a regular full-time position with a 1st shift work schedule, requiring Saturday availability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of teller, cash handling, or client service experience.
  • Six months of client relationship building or sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to interact with clients and prospects.
  • Ability to master personal computer (PC) keyboard and software skills for branch automation.
  • Ability to multi-task under time constraints.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
  • Ability to travel to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignments or locale changes.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours with occasional travel and overnights.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of client relationship building or sales experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced or complex branch transactions, risk management, and loss prevention.
  • Experience with sourcing and prospecting for new clients and client relationship building.
  • General understanding of bank operations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a distinctive client experience by engaging clients, conducting complex and standardized transactions, and uncovering needs.
  • Educate clients on digital, self-service solutions like ATMs, Online, and Mobile banking.
  • Support the team sales process through outbound client outreach, checking for offers, and identifying needs or opportunities.
  • Understand and apply Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) principles to deliver Truist expertise and solutions.
  • Participate fully in established Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
  • Commit to advancing individual and product knowledge through meetings, training classes, and web-based learning.
  • Adhere to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies, staying informed of changes.
  • Serve as a secondary contact for new account openings and problem resolution, offering applicable products and services.
