About The Position

This role is for an individual with Teller experience looking to advance their financial career. It requires foundational knowledge of finance and a desire to gain experience in lending and sales. The ideal candidate is outgoing, enjoys building relationships, and is passionate about helping others improve their financial future. The role involves proactively and professionally greeting branch visitors and opening new accounts for existing members. A key part of the job is accurately processing various member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, account transfers, wire transfers, official checks, gift cards, and cash advances. Additionally, the Universal Banker will research and resolve member inquiries and conduct research on member accounts. Sales is an important aspect, requiring team members to cross-sell beneficial services and track referred or sold products. Daily responsibilities include supporting branch operations through end-of-day balancing, scanning checks, providing dual control for vault cash and card supplies, and ensuring the security of confidential information by totaling branch cash.

Requirements

18 months of financial institution or similar industry experience in a retail branch environment.
A minimum of 6 months opening new accounts.
Ability to actively cross-sell products & services.
Strong listening, verbal communication, time management and organizational skills.
Able to maintain the confidentiality of member information.

Responsibilities

Proactively and professionally acknowledging anyone who enters the branch.
Opening new accounts (new shares for existing members).
Accurately processing routine member account transactions including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, account transfers, wire transfers, official checks, gift cards, cash advances, etc.
Researching and resolving member inquiries on issues related to their accounts.
Conducting research on member accounts.
Cross-selling products & services that would benefit members.
Properly tracking products and services referred or sold.
Supporting branch operations with end-of-day balancing by scanning checks.
Providing dual control to balance the vault cash and card supplies.
Totaling branch cash and checking to ensure all confidential information is secure.
