About The Position

Citizens First Bank is seeking a Universal Banker to work full-time at their Sparta branch. Citizens First Bank is a family-owned community bank established in 1969, dedicated to helping people and businesses grow in various locations. The bank actively supports local community organizations and non-profits, encouraging employee participation in community events and volunteer work. The Universal Banker role involves conducting personal and non-personal transactional activities, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and managing customer requests, with the flexibility to travel between locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • No minimum experience required.
  • Banking, sales, and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process customers' deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, loan advances, cashier's checks, money orders and other routine requests.
  • Recognize suspicious behavior and make decisions on when to consult higher management on transactions.
  • Routinely provide customers with necessary information and troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Be familiar with customers' resources to assist them.
  • Perform daily branch balancing functions (cash drawer, TCR, vault, coin machine).
  • Assist in the opening and closing duties and operations of a branch.
  • Uncover customer needs and recognize customer cues for appropriate products and services.
  • Provide an introduction to a Personal Banker for product enrollment/assistance.
  • Comply and contribute to branch goals for company growth.
  • Support the sales culture of the Bank by seeking opportunities to promote Bank products and services.
  • Maintain compliance with all bank regulations applicable to job duties.
  • Follow all bank policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
  • Complete all annual and required job-specific training prior to assigned deadline.
  • Put customers' needs first through consciously taking ownership through your choices, actions, and building relationships based on mutual success.
  • Provide support to co-workers with positivity and teamwork.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Cross train other team members for back-up support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
