About The Position

The Universal Banker position is a part-time role (20 hours per week) focused on providing timely and efficient client transactions while maintaining accurate records and proper handling of monies. The role emphasizes delivering superior client service by identifying and understanding client financial needs. Universal Bankers are cross-trained to support sales and service activities, with a focus on assisting with outbound calling and Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Two years of teller, cash handling, or client service experience
  • Six months of client relationship building or sales experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to interact with clients and prospects
  • Ability to master personal computer (PC) keyboard and software skills necessary for branch automation
  • Ability to multi-task under time constraints
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
  • Ability to travel to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignment or locale changes
  • Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours, with occasional travel and overnights possibly included

Nice To Haves

  • One year of client relationship building or sales experience
  • Knowledge of advanced or complex branch transactions, risk management, and loss prevention
  • Experience with sourcing and prospecting for new clients and client relationship building
  • General understanding of bank operations, policies, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide a distinctive client experience by engaging clients, facilitating courteous conversation, conducting complex and standardized transactions, and uncovering client needs.
  • Educate clients on digital, self-service solutions (ATMs, Online and Mobile banking) to enhance their service experience.
  • Support the team sales process through outbound calls, checking for client offers, and identifying client needs or opportunities, referring clients to appropriate specialists when necessary.
  • Understand the importance of Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) to seamlessly deliver Truist expertise and solutions.
  • Participate fully in established Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
  • Commit to advancing individual and product knowledge by attending sales, service, and product knowledge meetings, training classes, and web-based learning.
  • Adhere to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies, staying informed of all policy and procedure changes.
  • Serve as a secondary contact for new account openings and problem resolution, offering applicable products and services.
  • Handle a proportionate volume of work based on branch demands.
