About The Position

Northwestern Bank is seeking a full-time Universal Banker for their River Prairie Branch. This position is responsible for handling customer financial transactions accurately and efficiently, assisting with account openings and closings, providing support for online banking inquiries, and managing various account types like IRAs, HSAs, and CDs. The role involves serving customers' transaction processing needs, identifying their needs, and offering appropriate account services in a friendly, helpful, professional, and accurate manner, while also maintaining and balancing a cash drawer. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serves customers by completing a variety of transactions including deposits, withdrawals, money transfers, check cashing, and processing payments.
  • Processes the purchase of money orders, gift cards, cashier's checks, and cash advances.
  • Balances cash drawer according to accepted procedures, including counting cash, running coin counters, and preparing cash for circulation.
  • Opens new accounts for customers, explaining various account types, services, and policies, and processing related paperwork.
  • Assists customers with managing their accounts, balancing checkbooks, resolving complaints, updating customer information, and processing stop payments or automatic deductions.
  • Assists customers with setting up and using electronic banking products such as online banking, mobile banking, bill pay, and remote deposit capture.
  • Collects Customer Identification Program (CIP) information, runs Chex system, and verifies against OFAC.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence as needed, documents files clearly and accurately, and inputs wire transfers.
  • Processes and/or verifies outgoing/incoming domestic and international wires.
  • May be responsible for balancing vault cash, coin machines, money order machines, and ATM machines.
  • Performs opening and closing duties according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Strictly follows all security and internal control procedures, reporting any suspicious activity immediately.
  • May assist customers with safe deposit box requests, including opening/closing accounts and processing payments.
  • Performs general office duties such as answering phones, handling mail, making copies, and requesting maintenance.
  • May perform light janitorial duties.
  • May serve as a Notary Public and notarize official documents.
