About The Position

Under general supervision, while conforming to established compliance policies and procedures, is responsible for providing high quality customer service in the following activities: demand deposit, savings and loan transactions, check cashing, ATM servicing, balancing and selling monetary instruments. Assists customers with Electronic Banking and Mobile Banking issues. Cross-sells bank services and makes product referrals as part of the Retail Incentive Program and utilization of the CRM System. Will attend training sessions and participate in training exercises for the Retail Incentive Program. Receives training on various banking topics via the BAI on-line training system. Balances each days transactions and verifies cash totals. Assists other tellers with balancing, resolving problem situations as required. Opens new deposit accounts of all types including Safe Deposit. Takes travel club reservations, prepares correspondence and does retail account file maintenance. Will be cross-trained to perform other job functions as needed. Will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and automated underwriting systems
  • Excellent decision-making and communication skills
  • Must have valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must be willing to travel to another branch if necessary.
  • Ability to operate office equipment of varying heights, sizes and positions by reaching, handling, bending, stooping, kneeling and feeling
  • Ability to obtain documents, files, and supplies of varying sizes, heights and weights by reaching, handling, stretching, lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling and feeling
  • Ability to effectively exchange information in a verbal, visual and written fashion
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to problem solve by analyzing, observing, and prioritizing.
  • Reads material and identifies relevant details; judges accuracy and appropriateness
  • Ability to lift and carry a weight of up to 20 pounds for a short period of time.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively interact with others, including but not limited to internal and/or external customers, members of management, and vendors.
  • Ability to work a regular, predictable schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years retail banking experience
  • At least 2 years of sales or customer service experience
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Strong communication skills including written and verbal
  • Ability to prepare documents and compose business letters, and policies and procedures
