About The Position
The Universal Banker is an entry-level position that assists with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on fostering customer relationships, building loyalty, and helping increase sales to individual consumer clients. The position is based at the Arlington branch in Arlington, Virginia. The role includes supporting account opening and account servicing, executing financial transactions in accordance with bank policies, identifying sales opportunities, and contributing to branch sales and service activities. The Universal Banker is also responsible for following operational controls and applicable legal, corporate, and regulatory requirements, assessing risk, safeguarding customer and bank assets, and escalating or reporting control issues appropriately.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Previous retail banking or similar experience.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic account opening for existing customers.
- Provide service delivery to internal and external customers to resolve account service issues.
- Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Refer opportunities to segment partners where appropriate.
- Create sales opportunities from service transactions and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively.
- Support branch sales and service activities by participating in seminars, micromarketing events, promotional campaigns, and product initiatives.
- Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures, to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.
- Assess risk in business decisions, consider the firm's reputation and the protection of Citi, its clients, and assets, comply with applicable laws and policies, apply sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
