About The Position

The Universal Banker provides timely and efficient completion of client transactions while maintaining accurate records and properly handling assigned funds. The role delivers quality client service by identifying and understanding financial needs and is cross-trained to support sales and service activities, especially outbound calling and Integrated Relationship Management (IRM). The position is in the Western Carolina area, with Conover noted in the posting, and requires Saturday availability.

The banker engages clients, completes standardized and more complex transactions with assistance as needed, educates clients about digital and self-service banking options, and supports the branch’s sales process through outreach and referrals. The role also supports new account openings and problem resolution, follows operational and risk-management policies, and participates in branch leadership routines, meetings, and training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Two years of teller, cash-handling, or client-service experience.
• Six months of client relationship-building or sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a desire to interact with clients and prospects.
• Ability to master PC keyboard and software skills necessary for branch automation.
• Ability to multitask under time constraints.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
• Ability to travel as needed to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignment or locale changes.
• Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours; occasional travel and overnight stays may be included.
• English language fluency is required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of client relationship-building or sales experience.
• Knowledge of advanced or complex branch transactions, risk management, and loss prevention.
• Experience sourcing and prospecting for new clients and building client relationships.
• General understanding of bank operations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide a distinctive client experience through courteous engagement, conversation, and completion of standardized and complex transactions; uncover client needs.
• Educate clients about ATMs, online banking, and mobile banking.
• Support the team sales process through outbound calls, checking for client offers, identifying needs and opportunities, fulfilling needs, and referring clients to appropriate team members or specialists.
• Apply Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) to connect clients with Truist expertise and solutions for their needs.
• Participate in Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
• Advance individual and product knowledge by attending sales, service, and product knowledge meetings and completing applicable training and web-based learning.
• Follow internal controls, operational procedures, and risk-management policies; stay informed of policy and procedure changes.
• Serve as a secondary contact for new account openings and problem resolution, and offer applicable products and services to clients and prospects.
• Handle a proportionate volume of work based on branch demands.
