About The Position

The new Office of Strategy and Evidence (OSE) aims to strengthen UNICEF’s global credibility and ability to be a global voice, influencer, and evidence leader for child rights. In today’s complex and rapidly changing operating environment and decreasing resources, high quality evidence and foresight will underpin UNICEF’s credibility and ability to deliver results and be a global voice, influencer, and leader for child rights. The Office of Strategy & Evidence - Innocenti provides leadership across UNICEF in the areas of data, research and evidence generation, foresight, and assure development effectiveness through strategic planning, monitoring and results & risk management. It drives the evidence to globally position the Organization on all child related issues, monitor SDGs and serves as the institutional lead for excellence in data, research and foresight on children and child rights within UNICEF, the United Nations and the global community. By integrating data generation and use, research and foresight with programme effectiveness, OSE informs and strengthens the acceleration of progress towards SDGs, delivery of the Strategic Plan’s results for children at country level, contributes to thought leadership, and helps anticipate emerging challenges, thus, making sure that Country Programmes are informed and respond to national priorities for children according to different contexts, including humanitarian. The consultant will support the Monitoring and Results Management (MRM) and OPS Units by strengthening knowledge enablement, institutional learning, and sustained adoption of the UNITE system through the following areas of work: 1. UNITE Knowledge Architecture and Institutional Repository 2. Knowledge Capture and Lessons Learned 3. UNITE Conceptual Guidance Products 4. UNITE Knowledge Enablement and Adoption Support 5. Knowledge Sustainability and Handover

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Management, Economics, Development, Sciences, Public Health, Education, or similar relevant discipline
  • At least 7 years of experience in the development and use of KM for programme management and delivery is required
  • At least 5 years of experience and skills in KM and monitoring is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of UNICEF KM systems and frameworks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in understanding of UNICEF monitoring and reporting frameworks and systems is an advantage
  • Knowledge of French, Spanish is an advantage
  • Work experience with UNICEF is an asset.
