About The Position

Monitors inventory and equipment needed for direct patient care in multiple units. Acts as a liaison between nursing units and the materials department. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent plus specialized training.
  • Knowledge of equipment and supplies related to patient care.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors par level resupply systems for appropriateness, adjusting as necessary with input and approval from manager.
  • Meets with all managers on a monthly basis to review unit-based par stocks and adjusts as necessary.
  • Receives monthly supply usage report and assists managers in identifying trends and reasons for variances.
  • Conducts physical inventory of supply locations.
  • Orders supplies and maintains nonclerical inventory for clinical areas.
  • Receives and documents incoming supply orders.
  • Puts away supplies neatly, safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Distributes special orders to managers as requested.
  • Restocks personal protection cabinets.
  • Communicates and cooperates with managers and materials management staff to maintain par supply levels as needed.
