Unit Secretary - 5 North Med/Surg - Full Time 12 Hour Night Shift (Union)
About The Position
The Unit Secretary performs clinical and communication functions on the assigned nursing unit. The role provides courteous reception and arranges and coordinates activities for patient care. This is a full-time position on the 5 North Med/Surg unit, working 12-hour night shifts in a union position. USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is part of Keck Medicine of USC and is described as a community hospital in the Foothills area of Los Angeles, backed by an academic medical center. The hospital provides personalized care, emergency services, medical advancements, research, and clinical trials.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Excellent customer service behavior.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet access, and internet utilization.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Appropriate telephone skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

- One year of experience as a Unit Secretary in acute care.
