Capital Health is seeking a part-time Unit Secretary for the Observation unit at RMC. This role is responsible for transcribing physician orders, maintaining patient care tools like Kardex and MAR, managing patient charts, filing test results, and ensuring the integrity and organization of medical records. The Unit Secretary also manages patient census boards, log books, and computer databases, orders necessary forms and supplies, prepares unit charges, and handles telephone communications. They facilitate patient movement within the unit, coordinate with transport and admission personnel, provide non-clinical information to patients and visitors, monitor communication for patient confidentiality, schedule diagnostic tests and lab work, assist with call bells, and handle medication deliveries from the pharmacy. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of experience in a secretarial role or current enrollment in an accredited nursing or healthcare program, and knowledge of medical terminology and transcription skills. The role is customer-focused and involves a 12-hour workday on Saturdays and Sundays.
