About The Position

Redfield Community Memorial Hospital and Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Unit Secretary. This role provides clerical services to the nursing unit and serves as a liaison for the nurse and patient in interdepartmental communications. The Unit Secretary functions in a public relations role as a receptionist and may assist in nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). The position requires the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles and the skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department, including infancy, pediatrics, adolescent, adulthood, and geriatric age groups.

Requirements

  • Proficient skills in multiple modules of the Client Server system.
  • Proficient skills in the use of medical terminology.
  • Use of photocopier, fax machine, paging system, telephone, laser printer, patient call system, electronic scanner, ambulance radio, patient security systems.
  • Effective communication skills using AIDET principles.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
