About The Position

The ACE unit/1D (Acute Care of the Elderly) is a 21 bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospital. Our focus is on medical patients who are over the age of 65. Nurses are often drawn to 1D because of their passion for our geriatric population while becoming competent in a wide variety of diagnosis. Since we are a Med/Surg unit, we care for patients with a vast array of diagnosis including Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, Septic Shock, Acute Kidney Injuries, Delirium and many more. Teamwork is vital within our unit and the staff work to ensure sound communication with the whole care team. Scope of work Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of relevant experience Preferred
