About The Position

This position is for a Unit Secretary on the 7 South unit, a 22-bed Progressive Neuroscience unit specializing in stroke and adult epilepsy care at Butterworth Hospital. As an accredited comprehensive stroke center, the unit handles complex stroke cases, and the epilepsy program includes extensive EEG monitoring. The unit is known for its exceptional teamwork, welcoming atmosphere, and opportunities for learning and growth for both new graduates and experienced professionals. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies, and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards.
• Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment.
• Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.
• Takes phone calls.
• Helps with directions to visitors or outside team members to the unit (lab, radiology, patient transport, nutrition services, environmental services).
• Calls support when directed by clinical staff.
• Assists with discharge, admit, and transfer paperwork.
• Orders supplies.
• Ensures rooms are appropriately stocked.
• Answers call lights for any non-direct patient care needs.
