About The Position
The Unit Secretary performs clinical and communication functions on the assigned nursing unit. The role provides courteous reception on the unit and arranges and coordinates activities for patient care. This position is per diem on a 12-hour day shift in 5 North Med/Surg and is union-represented. USC Verdugo Hills Hospital is part of Keck Medicine of USC and provides community hospital care backed by an academic medical center. The hospital offers personalized care, medical advancements, 24/7 emergency services, research, and clinical trials. The hourly rate for this position is $24.84.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Excellent customer service behavior.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Internet access and utilization.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Appropriate telephone skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
