About The Position

The Unit Secretary, Medical Stroke Telemetry position is a full-time role located at Glenbrook Hospital. This role is responsible for coordinating non-clinical duties of the nursing unit, including entering patient charges, coordinating patient flow for admissions and discharges, ordering supplies, and providing customer service to patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other support departments. The Unit Secretary will also answer phones, relay messages, and proactively identify and follow up on service recovery needs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of work experience required or 1 year of college and 1 year of work experience required
Proficiency with word processing and computer skills required

Responsibilities

Coordinate non-clinical duties of the nursing unit
Enter patient charges in computer
Coordinate patient flow of admissions and discharges
Order supplies
Customer service to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other support departments
Answer phones and relay messages as appropriate
Proactively identifies need for service recovery and follow up of resolution
