About The Position
The Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery Unit is uniquely comprised of two inpatient units: the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit and the Joint Restoration Unit. Between the two units, we treat general and progressive care patients with varying diagnoses including: knee/hip replacements, spinal surgeries, infected joints, and amputations. We also care for patients who have sustained injuries from motor vehicle accidents, falls, or other traumatic accidents. We offer extensive training for new graduates and tailor orientation to experienced nurses' needs. Expand your skill set with external fixators, traction, multiple drains, wound care, and more. The Unit Secretary performs a variety of clerical tasks involved in preparing, maintaining and processing patient and unit activities, data and records.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience setting up and maintaining office system (organizational skills)
- Previous experience with medical insurance, MIS, and medical terminology
- Previous experience in a health care setting
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office software
- Previous experience with use of EMR
- Completion of a Medical Terminology course
