About The Position

Performs routine patient care, support and services, and also specialized clerical and administrative duties in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures of the assigned nursing care unit. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers. Executes a variety of tasks, prioritizes information and requests in a timely manner. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety of patients and information. May also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills, various medical procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communications skills.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and related information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members.
  • Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical and administrative skills.
