Unit Secretary (Clinical Support) - ER Deerfield Beach
About The Position
Named Forbes America's Best Employer for Healthcare Professionals! This position will be in our Free- Standing Emergency Room located in Deerfield Beach -Opening May 2026! Located at 340 S Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL, 33441. Position Summary: Provide administrative support to the unit. Full-Time Shifts Available (36 hours): The scheduled days for this position rotate and will change each week (includes alternating weekends). Must be available to work any day of the week and alternating weekends, due to the rotating scheduled days. 12-hour dayshift 7 am to 7:30 pm 12-hour nightshift 7 pm to 7:30 am
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- A Certificate of satisfactory completion of a formal Unit Secretary program or previous related experience
- Good customer-service and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and receive communications from Nursing Unit Director or designated Charge Nurse and Nursing Unit staff verbally, via telephone, mail, pneumatic tube, and computer system.
- Communicate effectively with patients or their families to meet the needs of the population served.
- Assemble new charts, record specified clinical information, file reports, imprint forms in clinical record, check discharge chart for completion by nurse responsible, maintains patient records.
- Operates computer for transcribing diagnostic orders and other computer transactions as resented.
- Maintains pertinent hospital data and records.
- Orders and maintains supplies for the nursing unit.
- Actively participates in all Codes and drills as scheduled.
- Performs other job-related duties within job scope as requested by supervisor.
