Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination.
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Skill in English grammar and spelling.
  • Neat, legible handwriting.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records, files, and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to use office equipment, such as multi-line telephones, computer terminals, and printers.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, stooping, bending.
  • May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity.
  • Constant talking or hearing.
  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue.
  • Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment.
  • Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours.
  • Ability to read and comprehend.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous secretarial experience desirable.
  • Current American (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) card preferred.
