About The Position

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Unit Nurse Leader (UNL) will act as a resource and provide support and oversight of the nursing unit's daily operations. The UNL will also serve as a liaison between nursing leadership and the frontline staff, playing a pivotal role in quality and nursing initiatives, along with other assigned duties.

Requirements

• ASN required
• 1 year of nursing experience at Gaylord Hospital required
• Current CT RN license required
• BLS & ACLS Certifications required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred and strongly encouraged to obtain

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource for the frontline staff, the UNL must be knowledgeable of clinical skills, nursing policy, and procedures
• Consistently rounds on staff, new hires, preceptors, patients, and families
• Assists with educational initiatives and in-services as needed
• Serves as a “Super User” for the nursing unit (i.e. IV, Pyxis, IV Pump, etc.)
