Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff. Serves as a member of the department's leadership team, helping establish strategic priorities and organizational goals. Provides leadership, coaching, and performance management for supervisors and staff. Fosters a culture of accountability, customer service, innovation, and continuous improvement. Helps lead organizational change initiatives and strategic projects. Provides operational management for the Operations Service Center, which includes the Parking Business and Permit Operations, University ID Card Office, and the Operations Service Call Center units, and includes 13 full-time employees and varying numbers of student employees. Hires, mentors, and evaluates staff. Develops succession planning initiatives. Promotes employee engagement and professional development. Ensures compliance with university human resources policies. Establishes, writes, and updates financial controls and internal audit practices. Presents financial reports to executive leadership. Responsible for oversight of office financial processes including but not limited to, student permit uploads to student business services, employee payroll deductions, daily closeout & administrative review, reconciling webapi charges with transactions posted in Flex, posting billing for Events & Departmental charges, reconciling bank deposits from pay machine charges with vendor payment reports, post coins collected from pay machines, process ACH refunds. Resolves complex customer and stakeholder concerns. Improves service delivery through technology and process improvements. Knowledgeable of the Texas Tech campus and the parking rules and regulations.
