Unit Manager (RN)
About The Position
As an RN Unit Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the nursing staff within a dedicated unit. Your role is instrumental in ensuring the delivery of quality care, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring the health, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents. We are seeking a candidate with long-term care experience and previous unit manager experience. Experience in dementia and memory care is preferred. This is a full-time, salaried position, working Monday through Friday, with some weekends required as needed. The position also requires participation in the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Valid state RN nursing license
- Long-term care experience
- Previous unit manager experience
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
- Strong clinical, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience in dementia and memory care
- Advanced degree or certification
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a Long-Term Care setting
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of nurses and support staff within the unit
- Develop and implement care plans, ensuring individualized resident care
- Supervise daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Conduct regular assessments to maintain quality standards and compliance
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to nursing staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident well-being
